Humphrey Orr Spencer was born June 28, 1928 in Panama City, Panama the son of Herbert A. Spencer and Lilian Fearon. His father was a diplomat stationed in Panama at the time of his birth. He married Barbara L. Smith April 21, 1952 and they were the parents of two sons, Manfred and James. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had been employed an accountant. He was raised a Master Mason June 26, 1981 in South Park Lodge No. 662, Chicago Heights, Illinois. South Park merged with Landmark Lodge No. 422 in Joliet, Illinois on November 13, 1981. He affiliated with Arboretum Lodge No. 1175 in Lisle, Illinois on October 13, 1992. He affiliated with Euclid Lodge No. 65 by consolidation February 12, 1996 from Arboretum Lodge No. 1175. He served as the Master of Arboretum Lodge in 1994. He was a life member of Landmark Lodge No. 422 and Euclid Lodge No. 65. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason and member of the Valley of Chicago. He died October 11, 2007 in Tinley Park, Cook County, Illinois and was buried in Fairmount Willow Hills Cemetery, Willow Springs, Illinois.
