Eugene Benjamin Witt was born June 18, 1915 in Big Rapids, Mecosta County, Michigan the son of William A. Witt and Ida Barton. He married Grace Clara Ripkey November 20, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois and they had five children, Raymond, Gordon, William, Dorothy and Ruth.

He was employed as an Electrical Engineer by the Western Electric Company. He was an active amateur radio operator.

He affiliated with Euclid Lodge June 5, 1951 from Prairie State Lodge No. 1088, Cicero, Illinois. He served as Master of Euclid Lodge in 1955.

He died July 1, 1984 in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County, California.
