Wheeler Nelson Rice was born June 11, 1908 in Harrogate, Claiborne County, Tennesse the son of Samuel Rice and Elizabeth Cunning. He married Elsie Mae Becktell and they had one son, David.

He came to Naperville in 1931 and was employed in the dairy industry, first as a drive and later as a supervisor.

He was raised a Master Mason March 7, 1955 in Euclid Lodge and served as Master of the Lodge in 1962. He was also a member of Euclid Chapter No. 13, Royal Arch Masons.

He died May 11, 1996 in Downers Grove, DuPage County, Illinois and was buried in the Naperville Cemetery. Masonic Funeral services were conducted by Euclid Lodge.
