Richard Joseph Long was born August 12, 1914, the son of Joseph E. Long and Carol Nellie Barker. He attended Northwestern University where he majored in accounting. He married Betty Arline McInnes and they had three children, Linda, James and Robert. He and his family moved to Naperville in 1949.

He was employed by the Lumberman’s Credit Association as the Chicago Area Representative.

He affiliated with Euclid Lodge May 3, 1949 from Melrose Park Lodge No. 1165, Melrose Park, Illinois. He served as Master of Euclid Lodge in 1954.

He died April 28, 2000 in Antioch, County, California
