Norman Nixon Lewis was born October 11, 1905 in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania the son of Charles Benjamin Lewis and Amy Hannah Nixon. He moved to Naperville in 1934 from Libertyville, Illinois with his wife, Marie Christina Winterberg, who he married in 1929. They had one daughter, Norma Marie. He was a plastering contractor in Libertyville, and opened a paint store in the Joseph Naper building at 216/218 S. Main St. when he came to Naperville. He operated the store from 1939 to 1972. He was raised a Master Mason May 4, 1948 in Euclid Lodge and served as Master n 1953 and 1957. He was also a member of Euclid Chapter No. 13, Royal Arch Masons and served as High Priest in 1951 and 1952. He died April 20, 1985 in Morris, Grundy County, Illinois and was buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Morris, Illinois. |
