Charles Lloyd Calderwood was born July 22, 1922 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois the son of William Charles Calderwood and Edith Kathleen Proctor. He married Harriet Gibson February 25, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was employed as a Machinist.

He affiliated with Euclid Lodge March 8, 1965 from Lawn Lodge No. 815, Chicago, Illinois. He served as Master of Euclid Lodge in 1972 and 1976. He was also a member of Euclid Chapter No. 13, Royal Arch Masons and served as High Priest in 1992 and 1993.

He died December 28, 2011 in Oconomowoc, County, Wisconsin.
