Coan Herbert Wright was born March 12, 1884 in Sumner, Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of the Reverend John Riley Wright and Mary Jane Potts. He married Elsie Mae Griswold in 1906, and from this union they had two sons, John Griswold and William Coan.  Following Elsie’s death in 1948, he then married Edna Conover Tousley.

He was a telegraph operator and ticket agent for the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. He was also a 20 year member of the Naperville Municipal Band.

He died September 4, 1953 in Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois and interment was made in the Naperville Cemetery.
