William Hanley Thomas was born August 17, 1899 in Big Rock, Kane County, Illinois the son of George W. Thomas and Helen C. Royce. He married Beatrice Marie Mooney about 1923 and from this union two sons were born, William T. and Donald H.

He was a farmer and farm equipment salesman.

He was raised a Master Mason March 20, 1926 in Euclid Lodge and served as Master of the Lodge in 1935. He was also a member of Euclid Chapter No. 13, Royal Arch Masons.

He died August 31, 1970 in Batavia, Kane County, Illinois and was buried in the Naperville Cemetery.
