Thomas Naper was born April 22, 1835 in Naperville, Cook County, Illinois the son of Joseph Naper and Almeda Landon. He married Julia A. Thayer November 25, 1856 in Naperville and from this union they had two sons, Charles Arthur and Burt Thair. He worked in the general store business with his father for a number of years. He served as a Naperville Village Trustee in 1859. In 1860 he travelled to California and stayed there a year, afterwards returning to Naperville. He was raised a Master Mason December 9, 1856 in Euclid Lodge and was elected the Master of the Lodge for the year 1860 but only served until he left for California. He was also a member of Euclid Chapter No. 13, Royal Arch Masons. He died July 26, 1864 in Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois and was buried in the Naperville Cemetery. |
