Roy Edwin Brown was born July 9, 1899 in Big Stone City, Grant County, South Dakota the son of Samuel Faese Brown and Sarah Wilhelmina Schutz. He  married Esther Sophia Ulrich and they had two children, Geraldine and Ordean.

He was employed by the Kroehler Manufacturing Company in Collections.

He was raised a Master Mason October 26, 1925 in Euclid Lodge. He served as Master of the Lodge in 1936.

He died September 10, 1984 in Livermore, Alameda County, California and was buried in Illinois.
