William Grover Latshaw was born February 1, 1886 in Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois, the third son of William S. After attending school he learned the barber trade, working in Emery Meiley’s barber shop. While working as a barber he took the Post Office examination for mail carrier. He was notified that he had passed the exam by the Post Master, Horace Peaslee, and immediately quit the barber trade. He married Ethel May Eichelberger, a great granddaughter of Capt. He and Joe Weismantel were the first foot route mail carriers in Naperville. His route covered all of Washington Street and the West Side of Naperville. He delivered the mail for 42 years, retiring in 1950.

He was raised a Master Mason April 14, 1909 in Euclid Lodge and served as Master of the Lodge in 1915. He also served Euclid Lodge as Senior Warden in 1914, Senior Deacon in 1913, and as Tyler in 1918. He was a member of the Lodge in good standing for just over 65 years having been made a Master Mason on April 14, 1909. He also served Euclid Chapter No. 13, R.A.M. as High Priest in 1918.

He died June 9, 1976 in Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois and was buried in the Naperville Cemetery.
